Definition:
Nonfarm payrolls is an economic employment report released monthly.
It is a compiled name for goods-producing, construction and manufacturing companies. The data is released at 1:30pm BST on the first Friday of every month, or according to the U.S. Department of Labor the report is released on the third Friday after the conclusion of the reference week, i.e, the week which includes the 12th of the month, and usually heavily affects the US dollar, the bond market and the stock market, if it is even slightly different from what is expected.
The figure released is the change in nonfarm payrolls (NFP), compared to the previous month, and is usually between +10,000 and +250,000 during non-recessional times. The NFP number is meant to represent the number of jobs added or lost in the economy over the last month, not including jobs relating to the farming industry. The farming industry is not included because of its seasonal hiring which would distort the number around harvest times (as farms add workers and then release them after the harvest is complete).
What the monkey is looking for:
I'm looking for a number under -45,000 or better to create some more buying and fueling this rally. If it comes out near -100,000 look out below!
