According to a news item from BusinessInsider, a man in New Zealand who become blind from drinking too much vodka, was given a bottle of Johnnie Walker whiskey by doctors as a treatment for the blindness. He was hospitalized for ten days but his vision eventually came back. It is believed that the excess methanol in the vodka caused the blindness, and the ethanol in the whiskey offset the methanol.
